The British Leadership Stakeholder Panel is not intended to be a time-intensive commitment. The day-to-day development, delivery and management of the Council’s programmes, events, awards, research, partnerships and communications will be undertaken by the Council’s Executive Team. The Executive will be responsible for the heavy lifting, ensuring that the Council continues to deliver meaningful impact whilst allowing Stakeholder Panel members to contribute strategically rather than operationally.
THE STAKEHOLDER PANEL WILL PLAY AN IMPORTANT ROLE IN RECOGNISING EXELLENCE
The role of the Stakeholder Panel is to provide insight, challenge, expertise and guidance. Drawing upon the experience of senior leaders from business, government, academia, healthcare, technology, manufacturing, finance, charities and the wider public sector, the Panel will help ensure that the Council remains relevant, ambitious and aligned to the opportunities and challenges shaping Britain’s future.
The Stakeholder Panel will convene two times each year to review progress, discuss emerging issues, identify new opportunities and help shape the Council’s priorities and future initiatives. These meetings will provide a valuable forum through which leaders from different sectors can exchange ideas, share perspectives and contribute to a broader conversation about leadership, competitiveness, innovation and Britain’s place in the world.
In addition to helping guide the Council’s strategic direction, the Stakeholder Panel will play an important role in recognising and celebrating excellence. Members will contribute to the final review and adjudication process for the British Leadership Awards, British Leadership Power 100 and other sector-specific recognition programmes, helping ensure that recipients are selected through a robust, independent and credible process.
Beyond governance and recognition, the Stakeholder Panel will provide a unique platform for engagement with some of Britain’s most respected organisations and influential leaders. Members will have opportunities to build relationships with entrepreneurs, founders, chief executives, investors, academics, policymakers, innovators and public sector leaders from across the United Kingdom.
Importantly, participation also provides an opportunity to involve future leaders from within partner organisations. Stakeholder organisations will be encouraged to engage emerging talent, future leaders and specialist teams in selected initiatives, helping create new opportunities for leadership development, innovation and cross-sector collaboration.
Ultimately, the British Leadership Stakeholder Panel will act as both a sounding board and a catalyst, helping shape the direction of the Council whilst contributing to a wider movement focused on strengthening leadership, championing excellence and enhancing Britain’s influence in the world.
Members will not simply support the British Leadership Council. They will help shape the conversations, recognise the leaders and champion the ideas that help define Britain’s future.
